The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between adiponectin (ADPN) and hemorrhagic shock (HS) and the recovery after HS. This is significant for further understanding of the pathophysiological processes of HS and the development of better treatments. In total, 72 male C57BL/6 mice were assigned randomly to three groups: control, HS, and recovery (N = 24). The HS mouse model was constructed by hemorrhage of the carotid artery and recovery was achieved by tail vein injection of Ringer’s solution.

Association between adiponectin gene T45G polymorphism and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease risk: a meta-analysis

W. Zhang, Zhu, L. Q., Huo, X. L., Qin, J., Yuan, G. Y., Zhang, W., Zhu, L. Q., Huo, X. L., Qin, J., Yuan, G. Y., Zhang, W., Zhu, L. Q., Huo, X. L., Qin, J., and Yuan, G. Y., Association between adiponectin gene T45G polymorphism and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease risk: a meta-analysis, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

Numerous epidemiological investigations have evaluated the association between adiponectin gene T45G polymorphism and risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the results of these studies have proven to be inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to obtain a more accurate estimation of this association. Published articles were retrieved from PubMed and Web of Science databases and pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using fixed- or random-effect models.

Role of adiponectin in adipose tissue wound healing

C. E. Jin, Xiao, L., Ge, Z. H., Zhan, X. B., and Zhou, H. X., Role of adiponectin in adipose tissue wound healing, vol. 14, pp. 8883-8891, 2015.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanism behind adipose tissue wound healing (ATWH). The preadipocyte cell line 3T3-L1 was cultured and expression of adiponectin receptors (AdipoR1/2) was detected by immunohistochemistry and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. The concentration of adiponectin secreted at different cell densities was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, while preadipocyte proliferation and migration were determined in vitro by MTT and wound closure assays. AdipoR1/2 were found to be expressed in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes.

Relationship between serum adiponectin and osteoprotegerin levels and coronary heart disease severity

H. L. Zhang and Jin, X., Relationship between serum adiponectin and osteoprotegerin levels and coronary heart disease severity, vol. 14, pp. 11023-11029, 2015.

This study aimed to explore serum adiponectin and osteoprotegerin levels in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and their correlation with inflammatory and ischemia factors. From September 2010 to Augest 2010, 347 CHD patients were enrolled for a retrospective analysis. Serum lipoprotein phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), ischemia modified albumin (IMA), and adiponectin and osteoprotegerin levels were detected and analyzed.
