Genetic expression and functional characterization of the RUNX2 gene in human adult bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

J. Y. Zhang and Li, L. C., Genetic expression and functional characterization of the RUNX2 gene in human adult bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, vol. 14, pp. 18210-18217, 2015.

Past studies have revealed the critical role of runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) in the proliferation and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). This study therefore aimed to investigate the expression profile of the RUNX2 gene in human bone marrow MSCs and its biological characteristics. Bone marrow MSCs were separated from 12 patients who had received hip joint replacement surgery.

Expression of OPG, RANKL, and RUNX2 in rabbit periodontium under orthodontic force

B. Li, Zhang, Y. H., Wang, L. X., Li, X., and Zhang, X. D., Expression of OPG, RANKL, and RUNX2 in rabbit periodontium under orthodontic force, vol. 14, pp. 19382-19388, 2015.

This study aims to investigate the expression changes of RANKL, RUNX2, and OPG in rabbit periodontal tissues under orthodontic force and explore its effect on the remodeling of periodontal tissues. A total of 16 specific pathogen-free rabbits were used in this study. The maxillary appliance was worn on the right (experimental) side, and the appliance-free left side was used as the control. Rabbits were sacrificed after 3, 5, 7, and 14 days of treatment.
